Guiding Growth

Our trauma-informed and evidence-based practices cultivate healing and hope for more than 1,100 youth and their families each year.

Most youth who engage with services at Lad Lake have experienced multiple, interrelated traumas which have impacted their overall well-being. Because each child is unique, we take an individualized approach to help understand his or her journey including their strengths which helps build a customized, integrated plan utilizing our continuum of care and community partners.

We believe that all children should have the supports they need to succeed in school and life. But for some, family instability, addiction, inadequate resources and trauma challenge that support.

Lad Lake has helped thousands of young people move steadily toward lives of health, safety, opportunity and self-reliance despite challenging personal histories. See how we have been building brighter futures in our Impact Report.

🧠 DBT Skill of the Week: "Two Things Can Be True at the Same Time" At Lad Lake, we teach youth that life isn’t black and white. You can be angry and still care. You can feel hurt and still move forward. This DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) skill is about holding space for complex emotions, and using that awareness to heal and grow. 💬 Why it matters: Life is full of contradictions. DBT gives young people the tools to navigate hard emotions, build healthy relationships, and make strong decisions, even in the face of adversity. We believe it so deeply,

🌱 10 Months Later: The MIRROR Still Reflects Hope 🌱 At last week's 5th Annual Correcting the Narrative Celebration, we honored more than just milestones, we celebrated movement. Movement toward healing, accountability, and lasting connection. Back in January, courageous youth from Lad Lake joined the MIRROR Project retreat - designed to interrupt cycles, inspire reflection, and ignite change. Today, nearly a year later, those same youth are still connected to their community mentor. That’s the power of sustained, purposeful relationships. With our partners at The Paradigm Shyft and The Community, Lad Lake continues to uplift voices too often silenced and

On this Veterans Day, we honor those who have served our nation—past and present—with courage, resilience, and a deep sense of duty. Their experiences remind us that service takes many forms: protecting others, standing for what’s right, and helping communities heal and grow. We thank each of you for the sacrifices you’ve made. Ways to Honor Veterans This Week Pause for Reflection Take a collective moment of silence at noon on November 11 to honor those who served and those still serving. Encourage youth to think about how courage and commitment show up in their own lives. Connect and Learn
